Students will be introduced to a variety of current social problems in the United States and around the world, and will consider and suggest potential social action through the use of foundational sociological tools such as research, social theory and understanding of inequality and identity groups. The focus of the course is twofold: the critical analysis of the causes and consequences of these social problems from a sociological framework; and the considered social action through community action, using sociological tools.

3 SOC Sociology Wed, 08 Sep 2021 18:03:54 +0000 admin 5316 at SOC 5110 Sociological Theory /node/5036 SOC 5110 Sociological Theory admin Wed, 09/08/2021 - 11:03

This course provides a systematic review of foundational and advanced sociological concepts, especially those in relation to classical and contemporary sociological theories and their reflection of individuals, social groups, social problems and social movements in society.
